Kitchen Manager / Chef

We are hiring an experienced Kitchen Manager/Chef for our daytime full service restaurant.

Responsibilities include:

- delicious and consistent menu execution

- develop specials and seasonal menu updates

- consistent portioning and plating

- supervise prep quality and quantity depending on business volume

- place orders with our vendors, review inventory and par sheets

- cost control, pay attention to price changes and adapt menu

- must love breakfast and have breakfast experience

- manage catering orders

- hire, manage, train staff

- manage a set team schedule, help coordinate changes when needed

- maintain a clean, organized kitchen following all Health Dept requirements

- continously train staff on working cleanly and efficiently, avoiding cross contamination issues

- supervise equipment use and repair, coordinate with ownership

- must be available weekends

Ideal candidate:

- experience in running an organized, clean kitchen

- passion for food and dish/menu design

- enjoys cooking on the line

- enjoys staff mentorship and development

- Spanish speaker a big plus

- certifications: ServSafe Manager and California Sexual Harassment Prevention Manager required or obtain within 60 days of hire

We offer sick pay, vacation pay, and a 401k plan. Salary range is $75k-$82k, DOE
