Water System Operator
A large commercial real estate company headquartered in the greater Spokane area has an immediate opening for a Water System Operator of our Class-A water system.
This position will assist with the ongoing operation, inspection, maintenance and repair activities of our water utility system including water mains, valves, hydrants, wells, storage facilities and SCADA system. Duties will include, but not be limited to installing, reading or replacing water meters, responding to breaks and leaks, oversee repair projects, turn valves, flush water mains, run cross connection control program by performing and tracking inspections, run backflow program by sending test notifications and tracking test. In addition, this position assists with the operation, maintenance and repairs of sewers, manholes, lift stations, etc. as necessary and any other assigned duties.
Candidates will have a Water Distribution Manager 1 or higher and Cross Connection Control Certification or ability to obtain the Cross Connection Control Certificate within 12 months of start. Backflow Assembly Tester certification is a plus. Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Must be competent with Microsoft word, excel and outlook, and able to learn to operate specialty computer programs. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions and perform manual labor including, but not limited to lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
This position will join a team of skilled individuals who maintain a large portfolio of commercial and industrial buildings in addition to the water and sewer systems. Neat appearance, people skills and a non-smoker are job requirements. We are looking for an individual who wants to make this a long-term career move. Wage will depend on experience, range from $28-35 per hour.
