Housekeeping/Light Maintenance

Maintenance/Housekeeping Supervisor and/or Property Manger

Job Overview

The housekeeper/maintenance tech assists with cleaning and at times minor maintenance tasks in the building as well as reporting to Supervisors/Management areas of the building that need attention. Position is intended to be 80% cleaning and 20% light maintenance. This is subject to change as needed. This is a non-exempt full-time position with benefits.

Responsibilities and Duties

The following are cleaning tasks that are included in the job assignment:

1. Maintaining the safety of the building.

2. Maintain the cleanliness of their assigned area including but not limited to:

-Dusting

-Mopping

-Vacuuming

-Cleaning windows

-Cleaning laundry that is used in the guest room or rags used for maintenance

-Guest room turnover cleaning

-Empty trash

3. When there is inclement weather, make sure all inside entrance areas are free from salt and other debris

4. Assist the supervisor with stocking and keeping track of cleaning supplies

5. Fully clean assigned areas of the building

6. If more sanitizing of the building is required, be able to adapt to changing needs

7. Any additional duties as assigned

The following are maintenance tasks that are included in the job assignment:

1. Change light bulbs and ballasts

2. Replace outlets and switches

3. Perform minor plumbing repairs

4. Perform touch-up painting

5. Any additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum high school diploma or GED.

Experience in cleaning and maintenance is preferred

Attention to detail, able to think and act quickly to emergencies, able to adapt to different personalities, patience, and good listening skills. Able to receive constructive feedback professionally.

Ability to use maintenance and housekeeping equipment safely per company policy and/or OSHA regulations

Ability to push, pull, lift 50 pounds or more

Ability to perform repetitive motions and tasks

Ability to kneel, stand, bend and/or extend for long periods of time

Ability to walk throughout a 9-story building pushing a cart with supplies for extended periods of time.

Ability to remain attentive while on duty
