On-Call Apartment Maintenance Technician

Rooms At Emerald Home needs an On-Call Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team. We have Four properties with 21 bedrooms in Silver Spring and College Park.

This person will be expected to respond within 24 hours to maintenance work orders, perform preventative maintenance as directed, and prepare bedrooms for move-in. Excellent customer service skills required; some prior experience in residential maintenance is preferred.

Rate per maintenance call is negotiable

Some of your responsibilities will include:

General maintenance

Appliance repair

Maintaining cleanliness, order, and safety on the property’s grounds

Serving as a backup for “lock outs”

Clogged toilets, clogged drains, door and lock problems, lights, drywall and paint touch up, smaller appliance issues, blinds, minor electrical, minor flooring repairs, and then emergency stuff: flooding, lockouts, heat issues, property damage.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Demonstrated basic plumbing, electrical, or carpentry skills required

Must be available on-call for emergencies on evenings, weekends, and holidays

Education and Experience:

3-5 years’ maintenance experience required
