About Us:

Union Trail Brewing is a new brewery opening in Blakeley, MN this fall and we’re looking for a creative, knowledgeable, positive person to take up the mantle of Head Brewer! Union Trail aims to provide a positive community experience by providing easy drinking ales and lagers while also introducing customers to creative and complex brews they may not have experienced before. The taproom, patio, and food service in addition to an excellent selection of beers is something we’re ecstatic about sharing with the community. We hope you’ll become part of the team!

Full-time Employment

Pay: $23-26 per hour based on experience

Required Skills:

Prior professional brewery experience

Creativity and positive attitude

Ability to follow and document precise brewery processes

Ability to communicate and work effectively in a team setting and individually

Ability to identify necessary tasks and complete them effectively without supervision

Must understand and adhere to brewing and sanitation process

Must understand and adhere to industry standard safety rules and processes

Must be able to manage multiple tasks and complete them efficiently

Enthusiasm and strong personal knowledge of the microbrewery industry and market

Must be able to lift and carry up to 55 lbs; lift, push, or pull up to 170 lbs

Responsibilities:

Order, receive, inventory and organize brewing ingredients.

Manage and complete all aspects of the brewing process.

Manage and assist in cellaring duties including transferring, filtering, carbing and kegging.

Create a brewing schedule based on business trends and demand.

Develop and implement recipes.

Document required testing and brewing information.

Organize and document required information for Brewer's Report of Operations filings in addition to any other information requested by ownership.

Utilize, clean and organize fittings, hoses, tools and other equipment.

Manage crowler, canning and other packaging processes.

Manage brewery cleanliness and adhere to strict cleaning protocols.

Follow SOPs put forth by Union Trail Brewing.

Prepare materials and vessels for production.

Complete quality control processes.

Work with management to establish any new processes to increase quality and efficiency.

Schedule:

Some flexibility is required depending on brewing schedule, season, and taproom events, but generally schedules are completed within an eight hour shift. (40hrs/week M-F) Some weekend work may be required.
