Qualifications

Deep understanding of all aspects of production including grain handling, yeast management, packaging and quality assurance

Strong understanding of CAL-OSHA safety requirements

Be comfortable communicating digitally via email with management and Sales team

Learn to use our daily program to plan, track and communicate regarding production, inventory, costs, sales orders, and deliveries

This role will start as hourly ($20-$28/hr range) and then after successfully completing 30 days of service,will be eligible to move to a salaried compensation package and a key part of the Leadership Team

Responsibilities

Leading Production:

Milling grain; Production of wort; Cleaning & Maintenance of brewhouse, tanks & equipment

Maintain safe operation of our steam boiler

Preparation of grains, hops, adjuncts and other ingredients for a brew

Miscellaneous cellaring operations as needed, including yeast handling and pitching, dry hopping, CIP, general cleaning and sanitation

Maintaining a clean and safe workspace in the brewery

General warehouse operations, including moving ingredients, barrels, and packaged product safely with forklift and pallet jacks

Kegging and canning

General management of all production/cellar staff

Motivate and lead production team to achieve company goals

Production schedule management

Administrative

Manage raw ingredient inventory and purchasing

Ensure hops are dated, labeled, sealed, etc by Production Team

Monthly physical inventory of raw ingredients and packaging supplies

Manage brewery aids, cleaning chemicals and miscellaneous parts

Establish and maintain digital record of brewing and cellaring statistics (used for record keeping and, QA, and improving efficiencies

Track cost of beers

Develop new recipes

Improve/optimize existing recipes

Job description

We are hiring a full-time Head Brewer to join our production team in Lodi, CA!

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

Requirements:

Deep understanding of all aspects of production including grain handling, yeast management, packaging and quality assurance

Hands-on brewing experience at a production brewery is greatly preferred; however extremely strong candidates may be able to substitute substantial homebrewing experience or formal brewing education for this requirement

Excellent communication, organizational & time management skills

Strong understanding of CAL-OSHA safety requirements

Technology:

Be comfortable communicating digitally via email with management and Sales team

Learn to use EKOS (our ERP system) daily to plan, track and communicate regarding production, inventory, costs, sales orders, and deliveries

Physically-capable to regularly lift up to 60lbs and maneuver up to 165lbs.

Comfortable with heights, confined spaces, and hot and cold environments

Clean driving record and reliable transportation
