Our client, a leading renewable energy company, is seeking a talented Systems Engineer to join their dynamic team. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in designing and optimizing large-scale photovoltaic (PV) projects, contributing to cutting-edge solutions that drive solar power adoption.Responsibilities:

High-Level System Design: Lead the initial system design, focusing on electrical systems and plant generation modeling for PV projects.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Business Development, Engineering, and Operations, to support technical aspects and respond to RFP opportunities.

Continuous Refinement: Contribute to ongoing system improvements as pricing, feasibility, and interconnection designs evolve.

Data-Driven Insights: Analyze large datasets, optimize generation models, and provide technical support for performance guarantees.

Innovation: Generate creative cost reduction ideas and stay up-to-date with industry design tools and methods.

Automated Efficiency: Develop internal tools for streamlined design processes.

Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with electrical and instrumentation installation standards.

Forward-Thinking: Demonstrate foresight and adaptability to advance project goals independently.

Qualifications: Solid understanding of solar and electrical engineering principles.

Proficiency in solar modeling tools (e.g., PVSYST, SAM, PVCase, SolarGIS).

Experience with data analysis and complex problem-solving.

Accredited university degree in electrical engineering (5+ years of PV plant engineering experience).

Strong computer skills (Matlab, Python, MS Office).

Excellent communication skills (oral and written).

Commitment to safety, ethics, and quality.

Ability to manage multi-disciplinary tasks and work well in a team.

Willingness to travel periodically for project-related activities.

Preferences:

Familiarity with utility scale interconnection process or grid network modelling.

Master’s degree in a technical field.

Familiarity with the National Electrical Code and National Electrical Safety Code.

Awareness of NERC requirements and design implementation.
