The U.S. SME Specialty Teams business is a fast-growing B2B payments business with differentiated non-card payment offerings.The Vice President, AP Automation Sales leads a sales consultant team predominantly in the tele sales channel focused on acquiring and growing US companies with annual revenues of $10M - $300M leveraging a suite of accounts payables solutions. Specifically, the VP, AP Automation Sales will be responsible for accelerating the growth of these AP Automation solutions as both a proportional and incremental part of sales in the US Middle Market. The APA Sales Consultants are responsible for sourcing, qualifying, signing, and growing Accounts Payable software solution programs and deals. Our customers use our platform to manage their automated payments for goods and services. The sales focus is on driving incremental charge volume growth through partner channels focus on either managing existing or acquiring net new customers through regionally focused Account Development and Field Sales teams plus national, dialogically managed portfolios.Job Responsibilities:

History of overcoming both internal and external obstacles to drive major results.

History of working with central business teams to act as voice of customer, working to identify and resolve issues.

History of demonstrating the ability to design an executable strategy and go to market plan.

Success in Financial Management Solutions and Sales Delivery

History of success in a client facing, in person/tele sales role, with skills including but not limited to gaining access, consultative sales, closing large and complex deals.

Track record of success leading F2F customer and prospect sales teams that drive growth through a consultative sales process. Gains a commitment from the client to move forward by asking for the business and successfully managing objections.

Market, Industry, & Product knowledge

Modern payments, AP automation and expense management knowledge.

This leader will be highly capable in both AP automation, expense management and payment solutions, while also exhibiting the sales & strategic thinking skills to define sales processes and product improvement.

Understands at a tactical level market/ industry key competitors, challenges, terminology, technology, trends, and regulations.

Possesses enough expertise on the full suite of American Express products and tools to consult on how they fit with the suite of AMEX AP automation and expense management solutions.
