Merenda, a wine bar and retailshop arriving at The Flats boutique mixed-use project on Coast Hwy in South Oceanside, will open its doors to guests this fall. Merenda is the brainchild of a proud Oceanside local who brings a broad palette of cultural experiences to his coastal roots. If you thrive in a fast paced environment and have a keen eye for detail, this is the perfect opportunity for you.You’ll work with our Chefto perfectly execute and evolve our eastern Mediterranean-inspired menu. The range of compensation is $22 - $25/ hour plus tips.Tips are pooled and shared with FOH and BOH staff on a per-shift basis. Merendaoffers partially subsidized health insurance(must maintain 30 hours per week), 401(k) retirement plan, dining discounts and more! Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook items according to our recipes and standards Ensure food quality and presentation meet our high standards Strong knife skills Maintain a clean and organized work station Assist in prepping ingredients and maintaining inventory Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely service Required Skills Must demonstrate appropriate workplace behavior and treat all employees with respect. A team-oriented and ego-free attitude. Professional integrity. Somewine knowledge (a plus, not required). California Food Handler Card. Ideal candidates possess Strong sense of urgency. 1-2 years fine dining experience in a back of house position. Capacity to remain positive and composed under pressure. High energy levels, organizational skills, and ambition. Unreasonable hospitality mindset (iykyk). Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Capable of handling objects with hands. Frequent bending, reaching, and stooping. Capacity to lift, move, and carry at least 50 pounds as required throughout shifts.
