Events Administrative Assistant
Our client, a leading not-for-profit think tank, is looking to hire a Temporary Events Administrative Assistant to support the office for a 2-4 month assignment with flexibility to extend. This position will have a 3 days in office and 2 days from home work schedule. Tuesdays and Thursdays are required to be in office with one more mandatory day determined by team needs. Hours are 9am - 5pm with flexibility for OT.Responsibilities: Supporting the planning and implementation of in-person and virtual National Program and Outreach events through:Tracking responses to invitationsPreparing rosters and mailings of meeting materialsBuilding and updating meeting records in databaseEditing bios and researching new contactsIdentifying background materialsLogging event participationDrafting thank you notes under the direction of National and Outreach supervisorsProviding general project support to the department as needed, including potentially outside of regular business hours in the run-up to large eventsQualifications: 1+ years of logistical, administrative, and/or event planning experienceBA in international relations or related fieldSuperior organizational and time management skills with an ability to effectively multi-task and meet deadlinesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDetail oriented with strong proofreading and editing skillsEnthusiastic team player with positive and flexible attitudeAbility to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentAbility to maintain the highest standard of professionalism if interacting with speakers and members; Experience working with high-level contacts or in member relations preferredAbility to maintain confidentiality and to use appropriate discretionKnowledge of current events, international relations, and U.S. foreign policy issuesStrong MS Word, Excel, and database skills; Microsoft Dynamics CRM experience a plusCompensation: Hourly up to $32.41/hrPay commensurate with experience and educationBeacon Hill is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values the strength diversity brings to the workplace.
