JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:The College of Health and Human Development is seeking applicants for a Career Services Specialist to join the Office for Career Development . Reporting to the Director for Career Development, the Career Services Specialist will work directly with undergraduate students by offering career coaching support and developing professional development workshops in collaboration with departments and other members of the campus community. This position also oversees the college’s alumni mentoring program, working with alumni and students to foster connections that lead to positive post-graduate outcomes. Responsibilities Your role will encompass the following key responsibilities:

Provide career enrichment support for undergraduate students relating to career exploration, internship, and job search strategies, navigating the graduate/professional school application process, education abroad, research, and referral to available campus resources. In addition, this position provides feedback on students’ application materials through Nittany Lion Careers (Penn State’s career services management system).

Design and implement in conjunction with the Director's monthly workshop and event offerings. This position will also collaborate with departments to strategically provide professional development programming/workshops in line with department goals while assisting with signature programming such as Career Exploration Week, Professional Development Week, and the HHD Career/Internship Fair. This position will manage logistics by working directly with recruiters, employers, and/or alumni to schedule presentations, workshops, and info sessions both in person and virtually.

Manages all aspects of the College of Health and Human Development Alumni Mentoring Program, including student and alumni mentor recruitment; development of marketing materials; matching mentors and mentees; development and revision of orientation materials; ongoing communication with student and alumni participants through email, newsletters; execution of the annual mentoring kickoff event, and additional events.

Foster strategic relationships with recruiters and employers in connection with the Central Career Services Employer Engagement office. Collaborate with employers to identify opportunities to connect with current HHD student organizations, participate in career fairs, and develop a presence via information sessions and/or workshops. Manage and track relationships and recruitment outcomes.
