Job Summary

The Strategic Liaison will work directly with the Senior Vice President of Institutional Advancement as their principal designee in managing key projects and deliverables as well as coordination between Institutional Advancement (IA), the President's Office and the Board of Trustees.

This position is responsible for managing all Advancement-related correspondence and scheduling between and on behalf of the Office of the President and the Senior Vice President of IA. The Strategic Liaison represents the Office of Institutional Advancement on behalf of the Senior Vice President with current and prospective donors, senior leadership, and the Board of Trustees. They will collaborate with all levels of staff across the University to ensure that the Office is properly represented and aligned with the priorities and goals of the University.

Essential Functions

Work closely with the Senior Vice President and the IA Executive Leadership Team to coordinate the execution of strategic fundraising and engagement initiatives.

Serve as the primary point person for the Senior Vice President to manage the flow of information within the office.

Directs internal and external communications for the Senior Vice President.

Serve as the liaison for scheduling the President for Advancement-related visits and events.

Interface with the Office of the President, the Office of Protocol & Special Events, Prospect Research, and all relevant partners to coordinate and ensure the preparation of briefing and background materials.

Create and manage high level documentation and information dissemination for the Board of Trustees; attends and drafts minutes for Institutional Advancement Committee meetings.

Interfaces with Alumni Boards and work strategically with the Senior Vice President to engage the Board of Trustees.

Employs sound judgment, speaking on behalf of the Senior Vice President to various constituents across the University.

Drafts talking points, memoranda and select donor correspondence.

Accurately represents the SVP's position on matters of importance.

Ensure progress on the SVP's key initiatives and action items.

Manage and confirm meeting objectives and advises the SVP on participants and best approach.

Work closely with the Administrative Coordinator to manage the calendar and administrative support for the Senior Vice President.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)

Minimum of 5 years of combined experience with strategic counsel, issues management, fundraising and/or project management.

Proven track record of effectively staffing senior leadership.

Proficiency with Microsoft 365, specifically Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong multi-tasking, attention to detail and organization skills.

Str ng project management skills.

Ability to work diplomatically and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

Ability to maintain sophistication, maturity and judgment.

Ability to maintain a motivated, flexible, and positive demeanor.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Ability to work independently and display sound judgment, discretion and maturity.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency with Ellucian Advance and Tableau.

Experience using project management software.

Ability to represent the Department at events as needed.

Additional Information

This position is classified as Exempt, grade M. Compensation for this grade ranges from $75,200 - $112,790 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
