The Health Service Leadership Development Program (HSLDP) Summer Associate Internship is a 10-week program experience that will provide you the opportunity to have an impact on our business within the health service space, inclusive of Cigna Healthcare (health benefits provider) and Evernorth Health Services (pharmacy, care, and benefits solutions).Through the HSLDP, the Cigna Group offers Summer Associates an opportunity to own specific deliverables and work alongside business leaders. In addition, you will develop a foundation to build your career within healthcare through robust practical experiences that provide exposure to key stakeholders within the health care ecosystem, client and customer facing experiences, navigation of global markets, leading major projects and initiatives through implementation, supporting and enabling mergers and acquisitions through special projects, and more.As a Cigna Health Service Leadership Program (HSLDP) Summer Associate, you will be:
Assigned to a business function that encourages you to build your business acumen and strengthen your leadership skills on a project aligned to The Cigna's Group growth strategy
Paired with a current HSLDP Full-time Associate to serve as a mentor
Exposed to The Cigna's Group executive and senior leaders in smaller, targeted forums
Develop and hone your presentation and networking skills
Challenged to grow, learn, and contribute to Cigna while having fun
Key tenets of the HSLDP summer experience will include:
A challenging project assignment in one of the Cigna's Group key business areas; role project selection is made by our Summer Associates in partnership with the HSLDP Program Manager Summer Associates will have an opportunity to meet with multiple role managers prior to ranking their final project preferences
Experiential learning, executive speaker series, group projects, and offsite immersion experiences
Leadership development through Cigna's competency-based assessment model
A supportive and collaborative community of peers
Community outreach and charitable events
The HSLDP Summer Associate Internship is the primary path to becoming a Full-time HSLDP Associate. Summer Associates selected to join the Full-Time HSLDP will participate in 3–4 customized rotational assignments ranging 18–24 months in duration, aligned to The Cigna Group’s growth strategy and your personal development goals.Qualifications
Currently enrolled in an MBA, MPH or MHA program with 3 to 6 years of professional experience
Endeavor to become a business leader in the health service industry
Demonstrated ability to influence across a matrixed organization
Exceptional business acumen and leadership
Applies innovative thinking and problem-solving skills
Work Authorization:One goal of this internship program is to prepare and identify qualified candidates for roles with Cigna post-graduation.
