JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:The College of Agricultural Sciences (https://agsci.psu.edu) at The Pennsylvania State University (https://psu.edu) is hiring a Bilingual Program Development Specialist . This position will research, develop, deliver, and evaluate online courses on topics related to early childhood development in both English and Spanish to be delivered to a national audience of childcare professionals. Professional development courses developed by Better Kid Care (BKC) are accepted for the national Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and meet childcare licensing requirements in 49 states. This position will partner with state and national organizations and sponsors to develop innovative and relevant course content to support positive child outcomes. Additionally, this position will work with the BKC CDA team to mentor Spanish-speaking learners seeking to earn their CDA credential. Additional responsibilities include representing BKC at state and national conferences by presenting and exhibiting, and the successful candidate will have experience in submitting and delivering professional presentations. This position has the potential to be fully remote. This is a limited term position funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of refunding. Education and Experience: This position will be filled at the level of Intermediate Professional or Advanced Professional, depending on the final applicant's experience and education. The Intermediate Professional level requires a bachelor's degree and one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional education and/or experience are required for higher-level positions. A master’s degree is preferred in early childhood development or a similar field. Experience with grant writing, curriculum development and evaluation, and e-learning are preferred, including the ability to translate research findings into understandable and meaningful curricula for practitioners. The ability to work in a fast-paced team environment is required. Excellent technology and social media skills are necessary.
