Automotive Shop Assistant

JOB SUMMARY:
We're seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as an Automotive Shop Assistant. As an Automotive Shop Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in assisting with the daily operations of our shop. Your main responsibilities will include supporting the team by completing tasks and duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will be a mechanically inclined and motivated self-starter with an appreciation for all things automotive. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support automotive projects by performing tasks such as carrying materials, maintaining clean and clear work areas by emptying waste cans as needed, sweeping floors, disposing of unwanted parts, placing tools and equipment in their proper location, and assisting tradespeople (welder/fabricator/engineer) as needed.
- Assist with installing/removing parts on vehicles.
- Assist with occasionally dusting off shop vehicles and/or washing vehicles on very rare occasions (basic wash).
- Move vehicles and/or equipment in a safe and conscientious manner, asking for help or direction if unsure of vehicle operation.
- May occasionally run shop errands or pick up parts in the area.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Punctual, dependable.
- Basic automotive ability.
- Deadline and detail oriented.
- Ability to handle physical workload.
- Adaptive learner with a positive attitude.
- Must have knowledge of basic shop equipment and tools.
- Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed.
- Ability to work proactively and independently and in a team environment.
- Automotive wiring knowledge/experience is highly desired but not required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and staff.
- Ability to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles is desirable (valid DL required).
- Previous automotive welding, fabrication, wiring, CAD, maintenance, and/or repair experience, formal or informal is HIGHLY desired (cert. not required).
HOURS: Monday - Friday, 7AM - 3PM
WORK SETTING: Automotive shop/Warehouse
WORK LOCATION: Ontario, CA 91761. In-person. MUST LIVE WITHIN 25 MILES.
