Cafe Wisteria @ Allied Arts is a unique event venue in Menlo Park on a 3.5 acre historic garden oasis. The cafe onsite is open for lunch Tuesday through Saturday. In addition to the daily lunch hours, we host special events such as weddings, receptions, corporate events, etc.
We are hiring a full time Kitchen Line Cook. This position is for most part Tuesday through Saturday 8am to 3pm for lunch service. Experience is a required.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Prepares food to order according to recipe, procedures, quality and speed levels.
Required Knowledge Base
· Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely.
· Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies and procedures.
· Adhere to all Health Department, sanitation, and safety regulations as required by the restaurant.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
Ability to:
· Able to work closely and communicate with outside vendors and FOH, in constant high pace doing a variety of “time restraint” tasks.
· Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· At least two years’ restaurant experience.
· Two years’ experience as a Line Cook in a high volume, upscale casual dining environment or equivalent.
· Food handling certificate.
· Ability to communicate in English with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate.
· Certification of culinary training or apprenticeship.
· Ability to communicate in a second language, preferable Spanish.
· Sanitation certificate.
