Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in WASHINGTON, District of Columbia. The selected candidate will be a part of our dynamic team, contributing to the financial health of the organization. The role involves accounting duties such as maintaining general ledger, preparing account reconciliations, and assisting with audit preparations.Responsibilities: Oversee the monthly closing checklist and ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner Prepare and manage Journal Entries to accurately represent the monthly results Conduct regular Balance Sheet Account reconciliations Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the accounting department Handle Business registrations and licenses, ensuring all are up-to-date Manage the process of Concur expense reports and integration of journal entries within NetSuite Assist A/R A/P Specialists and Staff Accountants by answering queries and providing guidance Prepare cash, AP, and AR reports on a monthly basis Regularly reconcile the bank balance and manage treasury operations to ensure adequate funding Manage the posting of customer deposits in close collaboration with the AR Specialist Oversee the credit card chargeback process, including dispute responses and transaction tracking Create and maintain records of fixed assets Regularly reconcile and code corporate card transactions to receipts Respond to audit requests in a timely manner Oversee the accounts payable process and ensure all payments are made on time Manage the processing of taxes and tax returns. Requirements Proficiency in maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts Demonstrated experience with account reconciliation Ability to manage balance sheet reconciliation processes Expertise in performing bank reconciliations Skilled in preparing and recording journal entries Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting Experience in managing month end close processes Familiarity with NetSuite and Oracle for accounting tasks Knowledge of SAP for financial management Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field detail oriented accounting certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Must have legal right to work in the United States.
