Staff Accountant
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client's team in the Real Estate Property/Facilities Management industry located in Houston, Texas. This role focuses on maintaining accurate financial data and ensuring the timely delivery of accounting information. This includes a strong eye for detail to manage P& L analysis, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close. The Staff Accountant will work on a range of tasks including preparing reports, conducting audits, and assisting with the budget process.This organization offers an excellent benefits package including remote work and 4 weeks vacation time! Although remote, the candidate must live in the greater Houston area. Responsibilities Reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger and maintain monthly journal entries Assist in the month-end close and consolidation process Verify the accuracy of financial data and correct any errors Collaborate with other team members on the preparation and maintenance of financial records Examine and review unusual cost records to ensure correct data allocation Record and review multi-entity billing and assist in the audit of forecast data Monitor collection efforts in compliance with Debtor and Collection policies Prepare and analyze cost reports and conduct costing audits Assist with the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports Review monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely preparation and resolution of reconciling items.Requirements Must possess skills in Month-end Close Activities Proficient in preparing Journal Entries Experience in Account Reconciliation is essential Ability to perform Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation Must have experience in Bank Reconciliations Adept at Variance Analysis Proficiency in using NetSuite is required Must have relevant experience in Real Estate Property/Facilities Management Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to accounting and taxation Professional certification such as CPA is an advantage High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in work Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational and time management skills Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information.
