Staff Accountant
Description We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team. This role is located on the East side of Houston, Texas (77013) and offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, accounts management, regulatory compliance, and maintaining internal controls. Responsibilities: Prepare financial statements, tax documents, and monthly balance sheets Manage accounts payable and receivables Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes Ensure the company complies with financial regulations Develop and maintain internal financial controls and procedures Maintain accurate financial records Provide support for informed financial decision-making Assist with budgeting and forecasting Assist with bank reconciliations Be responsible for monthly depreciation, addition, and disposal of fixed assets Update the inventory spreadsheet and ensure all adjustments are accounted for Ensure that all intercompany processes are completed in a timely manner.Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar role Proficiency in accounting software including NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Knowledge of General Ledger and Journal Entries Familiarity with Month End Close procedures Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations Experience with Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Account, and Balance Sheet Reviews Working knowledge of Balance Sheets Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
