Lead Diesel Mechanic - Semi-Trucks & Trailers
A Phoenix based demolition company, more than 50 years in operation, has an opportunity for a highly qualified diesel mechanic at its Gilbert maintenance facility.
This is an immediate full-time opening for a lead mechanic roll in our maintenance shop which services and repairs company trucks and trailers and equipment. This is a high-level skilled mechanic position requiring at least 5 years of Heavy-Duty diesel mechanic experience. This individual will be responsible for the effective repair of machinery and components at high levels of quality. Their work must be completed in a safe, professional, and timely manner. Will also need to be able to delegate task and repairs to the other team members. This individual must be able to perform quality work as efficiently and profitably as possible, work overtime and weekends on occasion.
Specific Duties Include:
Efficiently disassemble, and repair Heavy Tuck & Trailer components; including but not limited to; diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, axles, brakes, clutches, and any other components or systems.
Inspect, analyze, and diagnose complex repairs, including the ability to troubleshoot and analyze mechanical, electrical, and other types of problems.
Preform repairs and preventative maintenance on diesel powered trucks, tractors and trailers as assigned by the supervisor.
Manage time effectively by prioritizing and organizing workload and tasks.
Maintain a clean, safe work area, as well as care for all shop tools, machines, and equipment.
Document machine information and repairs completed on work order, including parts and fluids used.
May be required to test drive equipment if certified.
Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork.
Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional, efficient manner with honesty and integrity.
Skills & Qualifications:
Excellent mechanical skills with general knowledge and experience in truck / trailer repair and operations.
Trade-specific tooling, including hand and pneumatic tools.
Ability to assemble and perform maintenance functions on equipment.
Ability to read and understand repair manuals and regulations.
Ability to use and learn various diagnostic software used on tractor/trailers.
Ability to work independently and be held accountable.

Requirements:
Graduation from related diesel technology program or 5+ years related experience.
Candidates must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
Clean MVR and Driver’s license required.
Reliable transportation and attendance.
