Investment Banking Technology Coverage Business Manager - Senior Associate
The role involves providing comprehensive business management support to the Global Heads of Technology Investment Banking, and Senior Business Manager. The role is based in New York alongside the Technology Investment Banking team and will operate in the following capacity:
As a trusted advisor to the business in all aspects of the business; strategy, controls, people and financial performance
Key point of contact for front office and support functions to help identify, facilitate and achieve business objectives and opportunities
Drive communication of the business strategy, performance and priorities
Proactively and on request to provide strategic analysis and reporting to facilitate business progression
Ensure the business is aligned with key control and support functions (such as Legal, Compliance, Operations, HR, Audit, Technology, etc)
Help manage business risk by ensuring an effective control environment
Ensure the business is in compliance with LOB and corporate-wide objectives and policies
Work closely with IB Coverage and Product Business management teams and other LOBs to facilitate development and execution of synergies across strategy, opportunities and client relationships
Build effective relationships and work closely with F&BM colleagues (e.g. Planning & Analysis, Finance Controllers, Office Management)
Job responsibilities:Drive strategic agenda and deliverables for Group Heads, senior management, and Finance & Business Management. Ensure execution of key initiatives and provide relevant analysis for decision making.
Prepare quarterly business reviews, weekly Tech P&L and wallet reporting, sector analysis, client executive client reviews, Tech offsites/all-hands, team expense reporting, and team meeting agendas.
Analyze industry stats and data for industry trends, competition and areas of opportunity. Identify areas of focus relative to our competition and overall market opportunities
Coordinate and drive all financial management including: annual budgets, quarterly/monthly forecasts, revenue reconciliation, pipeline oversight and projections, expense management (e.g. approval, escalations, budgeting)
Manage the people agenda including: headcount planning, evaluation processes, intensity and productivity reporting, group meetings and communications, social committees, pulse surveys, resource manager partnership on A&A initiatives and hiring
Drive best practices and help ensure adherence to firm policies. Coordinate with relevant partners to ensure proper communication, execution, escalation, and follow-up
Assist with ongoing client management and onboarding including: account planning, account coverage reviews, coordination with groups such as Deal Services, Global Corporate Bank (GCB) and Commercial Bank (CB)
Assist with/enforce Compliance and Controls agenda - policy communication, rules adherence, FINRA registration and training follow-up, annual compliance updates and general queries
Project representation/ownership of broader business deliverables (e.g., regulatory work streams, technology work streams, strategic analyses)
Coordinate with Business Support Management on the delivery of all administrative assistant, technology, real estate, operational and other services to the banking teams
Support the annual franchise Healthcare Conference event workstreams and deliverables
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or other related area.
Strong in Excel (able to distill large datasets into compact messages) and PowerPoint (skilled with visually presenting those messages)
Strong analytical, organizational and prioritization skills. Self-starter with a desire to understand both the big picture and the details. Driven to identify opportunities for efficiency and structure. Strong work ethic but works smart
Welcomes the challenge of wearing multiple hats in supporting the business. Thrives in a multi-disciplinary, time-pressured environment and matrix organization

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:
5+ years of experience in Business Management or on a CFO/COO team preferred
Experience with dashboards (designing, using, enhancing) a plus
Comfortable with making independent decisions with professional maturity and personal integrity
Intuitive thinker focused on asking the right questions to innovate and improve the status quo
