Clerk-Recorder-Assessor-Registrar of Voters
With over 183,000 parcels of land in Sonoma County, the Assessor's division of the Clerk-Recorder-Assessor-Registrar of Voters Office relies on their CAD Mapping Technicians to help provide residents of Sonoma County with accurate and timely property assessments.
As a CAD Mapping Technician I, you will learn to:
Use AutoCad to create, update, and maintain Assessor maps, map records, and property records
Interpret legal documents, proposals, and maps to determine their effect on property boundaries, title, and taxation
Review and approve maps, proposals, and legal descriptions which are used by various agencies to create annexations, reorganizations, and Williamson Act contracts
Assist professional surveyors, engineers, and attorneys with cadastral mapping related issues and requests
Assist the public in-person and over the phone in areas related to property description, map interpretation, acreage status and other map related inquiries
The ideal candidate will possess:
Experience and training with AutoCAD and related software tools
Some experience working with real estate title policies and procedures
Familiarity with survey maps and basic land surveying concepts
Attention to detail for reviewing legal documents, proposals, and maps
The ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with coworkers, the public, and professionals including surveyors, engineers, and attorneys regarding assessor mapping related issues
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word
