Artist Studio Assistant

Artist seeking full time studio assistant.

Artist in Brooklyn is seeking a studio assistant to work full time. Ideal candidate is craft oriented and comfortable switching between hands-on physical work and administrative duties.

Along with assisting in the art making process the studio assistant will be responsible for general upkeep of the space and office and will be expected to help carry heavy and fragile art.

Must be punctual, organized, outgoing and able to adapt to a variety of different tasks daily.

Required Skills:

- Research/administrative

- Organization

- Art handling/moving

- Ability to carry more than 50 lbs

Relevant (but not necessary) skills:

- Clay and ceramics

- Painting

- Photoshop

- Hand sewing

- Color matching, paint mixing

- Woodshop

- Experience with power tools

The studio is in Gowanus, Brooklyn. The work schedule is Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm with pay of $21.00 per hour and 2 weeks PTO.
