Job Title: Studio Production Assistant

Start Date: January 7th, 2025

Compensation: $20/hour

Availability: Tuesday and Thursday 9:00AM–3:00PM.

Studio Location: Mott Haven, Bronx

About Alteronce Gumby Studio:

Alteronce Gumby Studio is the creative house of artist Alteronce Gumby. It is comprised of a close knit team. The studio works year round to support Alteronce’s artistic practice.

Job Description:

In your role, you’ll work closely with Alteronce and the studio assistants to maintain the studio, prepare artworks for the next phase of completion, installation/hanging of large artworks, and prepare/oversee artwork for collection and/or documentation. Other tasks include, box building, package collection, and inventory updates.

Qualifications:

- Comfortable working with glass/broken glass (safety equipment: goggles, overalls, and gloves provided)

- Ability to lift up to 50-75 pounds regularly. (Non-negotiable)

- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently.

- Understanding/Experience using basic shop fabrication tools.

- Installation/Hanging of artworks.

- Respectful of different identities.
