Redwood Pie is an upcoming NY Style pizza shop in Hermosa Beach on Pier Ave between PCH and the ocean. We serve whole pizzas, slices, salads, sandwiches, and ice cream. It is a take-out shop focused on serving the local community. There are many things that set us apart, including our dedication to perfecting the craft of sourdough pizza and bread making. Hiring for the following positions:

Prep cook

Must have experience mixing and shaping pizza and/or bread dough. This is a morning position only. The shift starts at 6a-7am, mixing the dough for bread and pizza, baking the bread from the day before, as well as prepping at items such as sauce, cheese, sausage, pesto, meatballs, pickled chiles, washing lettuce, making salad dressings, roasting vegetables, washing dishes, etc. Depending on the day, you may be helping on the line as well. Shift ends around 2:30-3:30. You must be able to lift 50lbs or more. You will be making about 15 loaves of bread daily, three different doughs, and about 200-300lbs of pizza dough daily. This is likely a two-man operation with one person helping out on the line when needed during the lunch rush.

Line Cook

Experienced pizza cooks only, AM and PM shift available. AM shift is 10-3 or 4. PM shift is 4-close which is 9 on most nights, and 10 or 11 on weekend nights. You will be responsible for setting up the line, managing the dough and oven, stretching, topping, and baking whole pizzas as well as reheating slices. Duties may also include helping with prep, folding pizza boxes, and taking orders. Closing duties may include washing dishes and cleaning the kitchen.

Cashier

AM and PM shifts available. AM shift will likely be 10AM-3 or 4PM. PM shift 4PM - 10 or 11PM. Opening duties include cleaning windows, folding pizza boxes, setting up cash drawer, printing menus, etc. Previous restaurant/retail experience is preferred, but not required. During the shift you will be taking in-store orders as well as phone orders, managing pickups, reheating slices, grabbing drinks and salads, clearing and wiping down dining areas, washing dishes, and ensuring guests are treated warmly and competently, and making sure orders are being taken and processed in the most efficient way possible. When it is busy, this can be a very fast-paced position. We need someone who can keep their cool under pressure, smile, and stay focused.
