Bartender Gilman Brewing Company Santa Cruz
California, San francisco bay area 00000 San francisco bay area USA

Gilman- rad people, killer beer. Sound good to you?

We’re a family here at Gilman Brewing. What does that mean? Well, all the standard shit that comes with being part of a family: working hard together, people giving you crap about your latest haircut, ribbing the regulars who rolled in after stopping by “the competition” around the corner, giving the cooks a bunch of shit about the wings being too spicy…

No egos. No attitudes. Just killer beer and real people.

We’ve been a very tight group that has had each other’s backs since opening in 2015. Everything we do is about making our beer accessible and making EVERYONE feel welcome and comfortable in our taprooms. If you can't pour beer, troubleshoot a foamy keg and don't know the difference between a porter and a stout that's not a problem, we can help you learn. We need people with a positive attitude, we can't teach that! Everything else is easy if you want to learn, want to have fun with your co-workers and, most importantly, want our customers to have a great time while drinking great beer!

Our tasting rooms are a key part of our success as we’re able to showcase our awesome staff, our beer, culture, and our brand with patrons and turn them into loyal fans. All our bartenders act as our brand ambassadors when they are working in the taproom and should be attentive and focused on providing the best possible experience for our guests in a fast-paced environment.

To be a successful bartender at Gilman, one must work with other bar teammates to ensure that our guests receive prompt and seamless service and are having a good time. Our bartenders practice proper beer pouring, take part in cleaning, setting up and breaking down the bar, maintaining and stocking clean glassware, stocking packaged beer, changing kegs, and taking on other duties as assigned to support the Taproom Manager and ensure that the taproom operates smoothly.

Prior craft beer (bartending) experience is a plus, but not a requirement. What is a requirement is a passion for learning about craft beer, enjoying working as part of a team, being efficient, reliable, trustworthy, and perceptive with excellent communication and time-management skills.
