Director of Business Development - Impak Corporation
Job Overview: After 30 years in business, Impak Worldwide Inc is seeking a Director of Business Development. We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Business Development to lead our efforts in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, market analysis, and relationship management, with a proven track record of driving growth and expanding market presence. This role requires excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of industry trends, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
o Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
o Conduct market research and analysis to identify new opportunities, trends, and competitive landscapes.
Opportunity Identification:
o Take advantage of our 60-90 new customers every month to identify potential clients, partners and markets to drive revenue growth.
o Build and maintain a robust pipeline of new business opportunities.
o Have significant input into product & company presentation at key industry trade shows
Relationship Management:
o Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, distributors, partners and other industry leaders.
o Negotiate and close high-value deals, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.
o Redevelop relationships with accounts that have transferred to competition, gone dormant, or have suffered from lack of “customer attention”.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
o Shows a clear ability to train less experienced personnel in marketing, sales, and product development teams to align strategies and support business initiatives.
o Provide insights and feedback to enhance product offerings and customer experience.
o Understand that direct communication with customers both via telephone and face to face will be a key measurement of success regardless of revenue growth. Impak believes that deep customer contact is what shows us where the next high value opportunities exist.
Performance Tracking:
o Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of business development initiatives.
o Prepare and present regular reports to executive leadership on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
o Spearhead the effective usage of the company’s internal reports.
6. Team Leadership:
o Lead and mentor the people who support the business development efforts, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
o Support professional development and training to enhance team capabilities.
Qualifications:
Thrive on quantitative measurement
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
7+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role, with a proven track record of success.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze data and market trends to inform decision-making.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
