Description We are in search of a diligent Mortgage Assistant to become part of our team in the mortgage industry. Situated in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, this role offers a long-term contract employment. As a Mortgage Assistant, you will be tasked with handling closing documents, reviewing title commitments, and ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders. Your responsibilities will also extend to data entry, multitasking under pressure, and maintaining organized and timely work plans.Responsibilities: Handle closing documents in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements along with client instructions up to the point of funding and recording all documents. Review Title Commitment to ensure clear title and proper vesting. Obtain lender approval for loan closing documents. Maintain professional communication with clients, borrowers, outside vendors, and internal staff. Confirm closing dates, location, documentation, and funds due at closing with notary and borrowers on all orders. Meet deadlines while maintaining specific time frames. Multitask and work under pressure to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on time. Utilize computer systems to enter data and process information in line with company standards for service and quality. Enter all information in the system notes regarding every task completed or updated on a file. Compile and verify information for each order in an organized and efficient manner. Plan, prioritize, and organize work effectively to meet business objectives. Requirements Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role within the mortgage industry Proficiency in using Abila MIP Familiarity with Automated Underwriting System Experience with Calyx and Calyx Point Proficiency in various computer programs relevant to the role Knowledge of appraisal processes Familiarity with closing processes in commercial lending Understanding of compliance requirements in the mortgage industry Ability to analyze credit reports and make informed decisions Experience with mortgage closing procedures Knowledge of title commitments and how to handle them Commercial lending experience is a plus.
