An excellent career opportunity is currently available for an Assistant Controller at our headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA, reporting to the company's Controller.
This exciting opportunity is in a high growth/volume environment where you will utilize your experience to lead the general ledger team. This position will work closely with the Controller to improve accuracy, efficiency, and to keep up with our company's historic growth. Will support the Chief Financial Officer and other Corporate Executives on a variety of financially related projects.Position Responsibilities:
Ensures timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Coordinates and manages the external review and tax engagements.
Leads the preparation, review and maintenance of financial record keeping and monitors against established goals.
Manages and mentors the General Ledger Accounting Team. Providing leadership in hiring, development, and performance management.
Plays an active role in the preparation and review of annual budgets to assist management and staff with goal achievement.
Compiles financial reports for management team. Provides detailed analysis, forecasting, and insights to drive decision making.
Reviews and confirms sales commissions processing.
Drives process improvement and efficiency in the accounting function.
Works to reconcile and resolve accounting inaccuracies or imbalances.
Ensures compliance with GAAP, tax, bank and other regulatory guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Accounting
Experience directly managing accounting professionals
Public auditing experience is preferred
Experience in a service-related industry is preferred
Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant preferred
Strong time management skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in Excel and accounting softwareAdditional Qualifications:
Excellent service to internal customers.
Computer literacy with MS Office products, and ability to grasp proprietary software
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once
