Crew Foreman

Our crew foremen are our first line of management leading our people’s daily work on a job. You are a leader – mentoring and providing technical guidance and assistance throughout the project. You ensure the day’s assigned project tasks are completed as planned.

You are our first-line of leadership for job site safety, field construction operations, and quality control. You are responsible for the safety and for managing the productivity of the assigned people on your crew. You are our key to verifying dimensions, maintaining productivity, and assuring quality standards are met each and every day.

Primary duties of a Crew Foreman:

1. Must be the example for Health and Safety at all levels on project site with a personal commitment to never violating our safety policy.

2. Know how to safely install shingles, asphalt, coatings, and metal to low and steep-slope roofs. Be proficient in measuring different types of roof to calculate the quantities of materials needed and in inspecting problem roofs to determine the best way to repair them.

3. Be skilled in leading a crew of laborers without direct supervision in properly installing all types of roofs ensuring that the roof keeps water from leaking into the building.

4. Work within and across your crew to ensure the day’s work assignment is completed by ensuring quality and efficient work is being done by everyone on your crew.

5. Maintain a clean and orderly work area wherever your crew is assigned.

6. Take start, in-process, and completed job photos. At the end of each day provide an accurate quantity reporting and time keeping to ensure job costs are documented.

7. Execute work procedures as directed by the Ops Superintendent or Owner to prevent delays; if issues arise work with these same leaders to resolve and where possible improve construction methods.

8. Follow J M C Construction, LLC established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements for safely and efficiently managing all assigned projects.

9. Lead by example and promote our high-standards and reputation for excellence.

10. Other duties as assigned.
