Family Law Paralegal Job
Job description
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as contracts, briefs, and pleadings
- Organize and maintain document management systems
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Prepare and file legal documents with courts and government agencies
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and depositions
- Answer phone calls and take messages with proper phone etiquette
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- File, organize, and retrieve case files as needed
- Transcribe dictations and prepare correspondence
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a paralegal or in a similar role
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Proficient in using document management systems and other legal software
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong clerical skills including typing, filing, and data entry
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
