About the Role

We're seeking a dedicated and organized Guest Services and Operations Assistant to join our resort property team in Kihei, Maui. This role combines guest relations excellence with operational support to ensure an outstanding experience for our property owners and guests.

Key Requirements

Must reside in Kihei area

Must have reliable transportation to access the property

Must have personal cell phone and be comfortable using it for guest communication

Must have or obtain a Hawaii General Excise Tax (GET) license number

Must be able to work as an Independent Contractor (1099)

Flexibility to respond to evening guest requests when needed

Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required

Primary Responsibilities

Guest Services Management

Provide exceptional guest service with prompt, professional "Aloha" communication via personal cell phone

Monitor and respond to guest calls and messages throughout the day

Maintain professional phone communication and text messaging etiquette

Address and resolve guest complaints and concerns efficiently, including occasional evening requests

Conduct arrival checks of condos, including ability to touch up units when necessary

Manage guest expectations and enhance overall satisfaction

Coordinate with maintenance, housekeeping

Manage lost and found items, including coordinating shipments to guests

Inventory & Supply Management

Manage and maintain supply inventory

Take inventory and place orders for cleaning chemicals and supplies

Unbox and organize deliveries in supply rooms including box breakdown and removal

Organize and maintain supply room organization

Linen Operations

Unload linen deliveries

Organize and maintain linen rooms

Process and sort linens

Manage linen inventory

Coordinate with linen service providers

Additional Operational Support

Assist with special projects as needed

Support room conversion requirements

Assist with documentation and reporting tasks

Coordinate with various departments to ensure smooth operations

Monitor and report maintenance issues

Assist with quality control checks

Perform light cleaning and touch-ups during arrival checks when necessary

Support housekeeping operations as needed

Move and organize cleaning carts as needed, including during office relocations

Required Qualifications

Strong customer service experience

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Personal cell phone with reliable service

Hawaii GET license (or ability to obtain before starting)

Ability to work as an Independent Contractor (1099)

Responsible for own taxes, insurance, and business documentation

Comfort with using mobile technology for professional communication

Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach

Computer proficiency

Professional demeanor and positive attitude

Must have reliable transportation

Must live in Kihei area

Valid driver's license

Physical ability to:

Unload deliveries

Move cleaning carts

Stand for extended periods

Lift and carry supplies

Perform basic cleaning tasks

Organizational skills for inventory and supply management

Ability to maintain organized storage spaces

Preferred Qualifications

Cleaning or housekeeping experience

Previous experience in hospitality or property management

Knowledge of property management systems

Knowledge of cleaning supplies and chemicals

Previous experience in hotel or resort operations

Understanding of hospitality cleaning standards

Familiarity with Maui tourism industry

Technology Requirements

Personal cell phone with reliable service coverage in Kihei area

Ability to use mobile phone for:

Professional voice calls

Text messaging

Email communication

Basic photo documentation when needed

Comfort with basic smartphone applications

Ability to maintain professional communication standards across all platforms

Computer access for property scheduling system

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and move items up to 25 pounds regularly

Standing and walking for extended periods

Bending, stretching, and reaching

Moving cleaning carts and equipment

Ability to perform basic cleaning tasks

Comfortable working in various weather conditions

Working Conditions

On-site work at resort property in Kihei

Standing, walking, and physical activity required

Evening availability for guest requests as needed

Fast-paced environment requiring multitasking

Schedule

Daytime Hours/Part time/Flexible

Must be available to respond to occasional evening guest requests

This position requires consistent accessibility via cell phone to ensure prompt guest communication while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
