Secretary/receptionist serving CPA firm (SW Portland)
Job summary:
Part-time position providing secretarial and receptionist services for CPA firm in the SW Portland area. Average of 10-20 hours per week. Hours at the higher end of that range during tax season, with minimal hours during the summer and other off-season times. Compensation starting at $16 - $19 per hour DOE. Ideal position for a retiree or a parent with children in school looking to work part-time in a job with flexible hours.
Responsibilities include:
Answering and directing incoming telephone calls
Taking accurate and complete messages for staff who may be unavailable
Assembling tax returns and financial statements
Typing letters
Preparing outgoing mail and collecting/distributing incoming mail
Filing and labeling files
Placing and receiving orders for office supplies
Maintaining client lists for tax deadlines
Skills/qualifications:
Friendly and professional in presenting oneself in a professional setting
Must be proficient in MS Office applications
Professional phone skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be neat and organized
Excellent attention to detail and visual acuity for proofreading and document preparation
Articulate with strong English language skills and the ability to spell accurately
Ability to multi-task and work independently
Dependable and flexible regarding work hours
Willingness and ability to learn new skills and ability to learn quickly
Typing speed of 55 - 60 WPM
