Handyman & Experience with Exercise Equipment Repair

Highly professional family owned and successful real estate company / landlord with commercial / retail tenants is seeking a part time professional handyman to handle a variety of property maintenance and repair issues, as they arise. One specific specialty is servicing gym equipment (cardio exercise machines and strength equipment) for one area of the business.

Ideal candidate has transportation and can work mostly in the city (Old Town, Lincoln Park, South Loop, Northcenter, etc.) and occasionally in Oak Brook / western suburbs (25 miles west of city).

Candidate must be skilled in a variety of handyman work and highly reliable. It is ideal if they have good experience working on exercise equipment cardio machines and strength training.

In addition we are looking for someone that can paint, lay carpet tiles, do basic flooring and tiling installation, drywall patch and repair, light plumbing, basic electrical, assembling various items, repositioning furniture, handle emergency water issues, occasional rodding, basic HVAC work and maintenance, basic carpentry, hanging wall art, setting up for events and breaking down after events, and overall odds and ends jobs.

Job is an independent contractor and will be paid hourly, as needed. This is ideal for a person that has an independent handyman business and is looking for additional work. It is not full time and the amount of work will vary depending on needs that arise.

We are seeking only highly professional candidates and pay is $35 per hour for all work except for repair of exercise equipment. When work is needed on exercise equipment pay is $45 per hour. If work is required between the hours of 7pm to 8am ("after hours work") the pay is $45 per hour as well. Parking fees are reimbursed pending prior approval on amount.
