Senior Accountant
Description Our client, located in vibrant San Diego, is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our financial team. The Senior Accountant's responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, preparing tax returns, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned. The ideal candidate should have strong analytic abilities, exceptional database skills, a firm understanding of accounting principles, good organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to produce accurate financial reports.Responsibilities:
Preparation of monthly financial statements and reports.
Reconciliation of accounts and bank statements.
Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Assisting in annual audits and tax return preparation with the external audit firm.
Assisting with the creation of budgets and financial forecasting.
Providing guidance to junior accounting staff.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA designation or advanced degree preferred.
5+ years of experience in an accounting role.
Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles.
Proficient with Excel and accounting software (Knowledge of QuickBooks preferred).
Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to multitask.
