Position Summary

The Manager of Hospitality Events at High West reports directly to the Director of Hospitality and is responsible for managing and developing the events team, selling and coordinating events, and collaborating with cross functional partners on events. The primary objective is to deliver exceptional High West experiences by creating unforgettable events that showcase our brand. Guided by High West’s mission—"to make delicious whiskey, to share our love of whiskey with our customers, and to celebrate our home, The West"—and our vision—"to be known worldwide as a top-tier whiskey maker with the best visitor experience in the industry"—this role is pivotal in achieving our goals.

Responsibilities

Develop and Build a High-Performing Event Team

Team Structure and Growth: Design and implement a team structure that supports continuous growth and future success. Assist team members in setting and achieving individual objectives.

Training and Development: Foster a culture of continuous improvement through weekly direct report meetings and monthly event team meetings.

Marketing Collaboration: Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute branded on-premise and off-premise promotional events.

Constellation Brands Partnership: Work closely with Constellation Brands partners to deliver exceptional hospitality experiences for their employees and trade guests.

Seasonal Program Development: Create and enhance seasonal programs at High West venues to attract more visitors and boost revenue.

Event Sales Partnerships: Cultivate relationships with key event sales partners, including local destination management companies and hotel partners.

Process Improvement: Refine and build upon existing processes and procedures for all event types to ensure efficient event management.

Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with HR and Finance teams as needed.

High West’s Financial Performance Commitment

Drive Financial Success: Lead the events team to achieve departmental financial goals, aligning with and supporting the company's overall financial objectives.

Annual Operating Plan: Collaborate with the Director of Hospitality to create and manage the annual operating plan for the fiscal year.

Event Budgeting and Reporting: Establish budgets for each hosted event and provide a detailed Profit & Loss statement within 72 hours of event completion.

F&B Minimums Monitoring: Continuously monitor Food & Beverage minimums to reflect à la carte and general store sales, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of market competitors.

Support High West Leadership

Active Participation: Engage in weekly senior hospitality team meetings to stay aligned with leadership goals and strategies.

Reporting: Provide comprehensive reports on issues and achievements related to people, place, and product.

Information Dissemination: Effectively communicate key information from meetings to your team.

Timely Communication: Ensure that next steps and decisions are promptly shared with your team to maintain alignment and momentum.

Support Constellation Brands Trade, Sales & Marketing Requests

Trade Visit Itineraries: Collaborate with the team to create trade visit itineraries that showcase the best of High West and Park City.

Program Development: Assist local and national sales representatives in developing programs for both High West venues and off-premise accounts.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years management experience

Minimum 4 years hospitality experience

Excellent communication skills required, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear responses to clients and directions to High West managers and employees.

Must be experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail, Restaurant Reservation, POS and Event management software.

Demonstrate a high level of follow through and ability to meet multiple deadlines

Strong organizational and time management skills

Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including days, evening, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

Physical Requirements:The employee frequently is required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Frequent walking, including going up and down stairs and bending are required.

Work Environment:Working conditions at an event may require the employee to be outside for extended periods of time and/or occasionally in a kitchen with slippery floors. Irregular shifts, nights, weekends, and long hours may be required, particularly when working an event.

The salary range for this role is:

$71,600.00 - $107,400.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. Our compensation is based on cost of labor. For remote locations or positions open to multiple locations, the pay range may reflect several US geographic markets, including the lowest geographic market minimum to the highest geographic market maximum. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, the prevailing minimum wage for the location, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. At Constellation Brands, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
