ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, OFFICE OF SPONSORED PROGRAMS
EDC’s Administration & Finance Division has an opening for a full-time Assistant Director position in the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), reporting to the Associate Director or to the Director of OSP. This role is open to US-based telecommuters. OSP has primary responsibility for proposal review, processing awards received by EDC, and administering subawards and other agreements related to sponsored programs.The Assistant Director provides expert, hands-on support in all aspects of contract and grant administration, award interpretation and negotiation, proposal review, and subaward administration. The person in this role acts as a key team member, working closely with EDC's external sponsors and internal clients.  The Assistant Director plays a primary role in the oversight of a diverse portfolio awards in all aspects of pre- and post-award administration. Essential FunctionsThe person in this position is expected to communicate clearly and courteously; to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, collaborators, co-workers, field sites, and funders; and to work respectfully with EDC colleagues. The job requires adherence to EDC policies & procedures.The Assistant Director will:Serve as a primary business contact with sponsors and sub awardees;Develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Federal and non-Federal grant and contract regulations along with EDC’s policies and procedures;Provide analysis and evaluation of proposals, awards and subawards; review and approve cost proposals and recommend for institutional signature;Advise and assist Program staff on the development of the elements of business proposals;Lead or assist in grant, contract and subaward negotiations as required;Serve as primary business contact with sponsors and subawardees;Support proposal, project management and administration and finance processes by interpreting proposal requirements, award terms, and regulatory and compliance issues both for program, administrative, and finance staff;Provide guidance on procurement actions;Provide training and serve as resource regarding EDC policies and procedures as required;Responsible for the accuracy of content of internal EDC award documents and of all project data contained in EDC’s sponsored programs systems;Work closely with Program and Administration and Finance teams to provide expert guidance and propose compliant solutions to pre- and post-award issues;May supervise junior OSP staff;Performs special projects and other duties as assigned
