This position is for theEast Harlemlocation. We're passionate about coffee and food and about serving our neighborhood with the best products and service that we can. We pride ourselves on making some of the most delicious things in New York City (we have been featured in the Infatuation, NY Times, Eater, Food + Wine, Martha Stewart, Oprah, Serious Eats, and many others) and are looking for someone great to join our team. Who are youYou are a hard worker who loves to make other people happy, loves to make food, and is good with your hands. You work well with others, are self-motivated, and kind. Maybe you speak Spanish (it's very helpful if you do). Job description There are four aspects to working in the kitchen here and you’ll probably learn to do all of them: making donuts; making egg sandwiches; making the other baked goods we sell; doing prep. Initially you will learn to prep everything, bake off our pastries, and run our egg sandwich station. In time you will learn to prepare all of our donuts and other things from start to finish. Hours25-35 hours per week, including alternating weekends. 3-4 days per week. Shifts are roughly 5a-1p. Weekend availability is a must. Duties and responsibilities You will learn to make the items mentioned above and possibly more; Prepare and produce baked goods; Fulfill orders delivery; Keep pastry rack filled with pastries; Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, walls, and equipment - always inspection ready; Manage inventory and product ordering; Perform other related duties as assigned by management. To succeed here, you need to be: reliable - no call, no shows are an immediate termination positive and friendly proactive, getting in front of issues before they come up,with a desire to work hard thoughtful and deliberate about the decisions you make in the kitchen
