Payroll Analyst

In addition, employees are also entitled to participate in an employer sponsored 401(k) plan, to save for retirement.  Pay and benefits for employees represented by a union are outlined in their collective bargaining agreement. Position Purpose: The Payroll Shared Services Center Payroll Analyst provides Payroll support to all Veolia North America customers through the Payroll Shared Services Center. Responsibilities to include: assisting the Payroll SSC Administrators with problem-solving and implementing best practices, payroll processing/auditing for Salary, Hourly, Union, In/Expat employees, and maintaining the integrity of HR/Payroll data. This position will keep informed about changes in Federal and Province laws as they pertain to Payroll processing, work as a team with the other SSC members, and interact with the Director and Managers on project work. This position will also be supporting with all payroll tax activities, including compliance with local, state and federal regulations.Primary Duties/Responsibilities:Provides assistance and support for Payroll SSC Administrators with their daily duties.Maintains and ensures the integrity and confidentiality of all employee files and HRIS records including employee information, reporting relationships, position codes, salary data, etc.by maintaining consistent treatment of department controls and procedures.Responsible for weekly and biweekly multi-province payrolls tax reconciliation as well as supporting all aspects of quarterly tax reconciliation and year end processing for 14 CAN Business numbers.Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, correcting any payroll tax related discrepancies within the payroll software and with the applicable federal, state, and local agencies.Supports all audits, both internal and external, to ensure the Company complies with requests for payroll and tax data and to work with Auditors to successful resolution.Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local payroll tax regulations, including conducting any necessary tax research.Ensure and validate all applicable tax rates are updated in the payroll software system and submitted to Tax Services in a timely fashion.Answers questions and assists with Payroll issue resolution for all VNA employees.Assist with all time system integration project.Working with HR and different groups of management to build the business requirements documentation that is used for the time system configuration.Working with our third party provider to complete configuration in the time system based on the established requirements.Assisting management in the cross training and implementation of best practices within the department; assist in training others in specialized areas.Use of Case Management system for question/resolution tracking.Assist with garnishment / lien and child support processing.Be proactive in working with the General Ledger Team to avoid account discrepancies.Auditing weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing reports, checklists and documentation.Provide support and documentation for internal and external Audits.Responsible for the successful completion of all payroll Tax, Garnishment, Cash and GL posting files subsequent to payroll processing.Project work as needed.Serve as an escalation point for complex payroll situations. Coordinate with appropriate resources to obtain resolution.
