Intake Specialist
Description We are in the search for an Intake Specialist to be a part of our team. This role is remote to North Carolina and is part of an industry that values detail-oriented individuals with strong research and review skills. As an Intake Specialist, you will ensure the smooth operation of customer service processes, including application processing, maintaining customer records, and handling customer inquiries. This position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: Efficiently and accurately process customer requests, inquiries, and transactions through various channels such as phone, email, fax, and mail Conduct thorough reviews of requests to guarantee accuracy Provide support to both internal and external customers via phone or email Document all relevant information related to each call or inquiry, attach supporting information as needed, and route to the appropriate area for follow-up when necessary Analyze gathered data to provide feedback to Team Leads on employee development needs and identify specific providers requiring education on the prior approval or pre-certification process Screen inquiries to determine if authorization is required Verify member benefits and eligibility as well as provider setup Update and maintain Service Requests, and investigate any incorrect or missing information Efficiently assign all incoming inquiries to appropriate staff members throughout the day Conduct monthly Peer Audits as required Communicate clinical review outcomes to members and providers both verbally and in written form.Requirements Must have a HS Diploma or GED and 3 years of relative experience Demonstrated skills in Research and Review, with a strong attention to detail. Proficiency in time management, as indicated by the skill 'About Time'. Experience in Auditing and understanding of Benefit Functions. Familiarity with Hiring Processes and Financial Notes. Strong aptitude for Data Analysis. Proven track record of maintaining Attendance. Ability to handle Authorizations and manage Missing Invoices. Commitment to Ensure Accuracy in all tasks. Experience in dealing with appropriate personnel in a detail oriented setting. Knowledge of Call Center Operations. Ability to effectively communicate with External Customers. Proficient in using Fax machines for document transmission. Skills in Triage and Service Request Management.
