Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and conducting site investigations, analyzing soil and rock samples, field and laboratory data, and providing geotechnical recommendations for various types of projects (foundations, retaining structures, pavement, slope stability, site grading). You will collaborate with civil and structural engineers, architects, and construction teams to ensure efficient, and cost-effective project execution. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct site investigations, soil sampling, and geotechnical field testing.
Analyze subsurface conditions and prepare geotechnical reports.
Design foundations, retaining walls, earthworks, and slope stabilization systems.
Use advanced geotechnical software for analysis and design.
Provide technical support during project planning, design, and construction phases.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, structural engineers, architects, and contractors.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for clients.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
Current E.I.T. certification.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering preferred but not required.
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.
Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software.
Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering.
Experience with geotechnical field investigations and laboratory testing.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and report-writing skills.
Familiarity with Hawaiian geology, subsurface conditions, and local regulatory requirements.
