Line Cook/Prep Cook Bilingual
Lazy Sister is a modern Pan-Chinese restaurant that recently opened in the warm and energetic community of South Norwalk. We are located on the bustling and historic Washington Street near tons of neighboring restaurants and vibrant nightlife based venues. We are looking to hire a line cook and lead prep cook.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of food safety practices. Experience using a wok is a plus. This role is essential in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall dining experience of our guests. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Assist in the planning and execution of menu items for daily service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
- Follow all food safety guidelines, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management.
- Participate in catering events as needed, ensuring high-quality food presentation.
- Support the dietary department by preparing meals that meet specific dietary needs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation or cooking in a restaurant or catering environment.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
- Experience with menu planning is a plus, but not required.
- Familiarity with various cooking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
