Your Role.
The Bear Creek School is currently seeking to add a member to our teaching team! Teachers are responsible for using a classical Christian education model to teach students, develop virtue, and help each student grow into the individual God intends. Lessons are carefully planned to inspire and motivate students and to support them in reaching the learning outcomes. A successful teacher creates a nurturing environment where all students feel known and valued.

We are seeking an individual who will…
Plan and develop an engaging, age-appropriate course of study in the classroom, adhering to educational best practices, set grade level curriculum and school curriculum guidelines.
Design and present individual lesson plans in one or more academic subjects using a variety of teaching techniques that meet the needs of a variety of learners
Prepare materials for lessons, assignments, and assessments; evaluate, correct, and grade student performance.
Resolves and supports students with academic difficulties or behavioral problems when they arise.
Monitor students’ progress throughout the year and evaluate preparedness for high school.
Communicate all progress and concerns with graciousness and professionalism to parents and, as appropriate, other faculty, staff, and/or administrator.
Build and maintain positive relationships with parents.
Enforce safety and security standards for students, staff, and visitors.
Maintain required paperwork for individual student files, attendance and incident reports, and other necessary records.
Monitor halls, study periods, and lunchrooms with other faculty and staff.
Participate in faculty meetings, educational conferences, in-service opportunities, workshops, and other training seminars.
Maintain knowledge of research, developments, and best practices in middle and upper grade education.
Perform related tasks such as sponsoring student activities or organizations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Education.
Bachelor’s degree required
Teaching certificate and/or teaching experience preferred
Familiarity with classical methodology and Christian Worldview integration preferred
Currently held CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (with Epinephrine Auto Injector supplement included), or arrangements made to obtain certification within 90 days of employment start date.

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer or standing to teach.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Must be able to traverse classroom and adjust one’s tone and height, by bending or leaning, in order to teach each child
