Job Summary

We are looking for an accounting manager to supervise direct reports and oversee the day-to-day accounting activities. The ideal candidate must have management experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Accounting Manager will be keeping the accounting and financial processes of the company up to standard as well as ensure accurate financial reporting and control.

Responsibilities:

Month-End Closing: to manage the monthly financial close of the company by preparing account reconciliations, reviewing and posting journal entries, and maintaining accurate records and files.

Accounting: to be responsible for all general accounting functions, including, multi-state payroll on a semi-monthly basis, accounting compliance & policy, etc. Perform certain HR duties as needed.

Reporting: preparing internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and departments.

Strategy: to analyze business operations and data, and present actionable process improvements. The accounting manager will collaborate with other departments, such as sales, and marketing, to find savings and identify solutions that will allow us to scale rapidly.

Projects: to identify quick wins and work on longer-term projects, such as optimizing accounting processes, choice of suppliers, etc.

Required Qualifications:

B.S. degree in accounting or finance required. MBA degree or equivalent preferred.

7-10 years of experience.

Proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and Data Entry (knowledge of Salesforce is a plus).

Experience working with ADP is a must.

Excellent organizational, time management, and follow-up skills.

Clear and effective communication skills (verbal and written).

Detail-oriented, self-directed, and able to effectively complete tasks with minimal supervision.

CPA is desirable.

Candidate must view confidentiality and protecting operations as the utmost importance.

Competent technical skills, including the ability to interpret and apply to the account. Standards to business transactions.

Must have extensive experience with multi-state sales tax returns and federal tax returns.

Customer service-oriented, with the ability to communicate both professionally and articulately with customers and vendors.

Ability to communicate effectively among various levels within the company.
