Construction/Skilled Trades Teacher
Are you a skilled trades or construction worker with a passion for sharing your expertise? Do you want to make a lasting impact on the next generation of builders and those entering the trades? If so, we’d love to have you join our team at the Career & Technology Center at Fort Osage as our next Skilled Trades/Construction Instructor starting August, 2025! You do NOT have to be a teacher to apply. We need a caring adult, interested in helping guide high school students in the industry. At the Career and Technology Center, we will help you get your certification to teach in the trades and train you on all things education. We just need your detailed knowledge on skilled trades and construction.
What You’ll Do:
Teach introductory construction and skilled trades courses to freshmen and sophomores, introducing them to the exciting world of the trades.
Co-teach "Geometry and the Trades" alongside a Fort Osage High School math teacher, helping students connect math skills to real-world applications.
Share your real-world industry experience to prepare students for rewarding careers in construction and related fields.
Help students explore different trade pathways offered at the Career & Technology Center.
Required to Teach at Career and Technology Center:
A minimum of three years verifiable industry work experience within the last ten years
Demonstration of highest levels of integrity and professionalism in all aspects, including appearance, demeanor, and attitude
Superior organizational and problem-solving skills
Solid computer software skills
Associate's Degree or higher
