POSITION SUMMARY
The Sanitation Assistant Supervisor reports to the Compounding and Sanitation Manager and partners closely with the Compounding department team members. The Sanitation Assistant Supervisor ensures the safety, productivity, consistency, cleanliness, and quality of work being performed by the Sanitation team.
The Assistant Supervisor will develop hands-on expertise with the day-to-day tasks of the Sanitation team in order to provide knowledgeable leadership and routinely support completion of tasks.
This leader will coordinate the team to keep the production, compounding, and facility (exterior and interior) areas clean and orderly. Through training and the establishment of sanitation SOP’s, maintain compounding and production equipment to mandated cleanliness quality control standards.
The Assistant Sanitation Supervisor maintains records (such as cleaning logs) to document the routine work completed. The Assistant Sanitation Supervisor contributes to the safety of the plant by responding to spills, helping to clear material from pathways, and reporting safety related issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership Responsibilities
Facilitate departmental and safety training of team members in the Sanitation department
Create and supervise Sanitation schedules and biweekly review for payroll, including: Regularly reviewing timecards for missed punches; Submitting Punch Edit Forms by Monday processing deadlines; Review schedule gaps on timecards and time submitted in BambooHR for any missing PTO, Sick Time, or other time off bank submissions
Support performance management
Create and follow a schedule to support efficient equipment cleaning and sanitation for both the Production and Compounding departments
Train, lead, and facilitate appropriate sanitation procedures with other team members
Partner with the CSM in performance management initiatives, including development of new team member training, assessments, and performance gaps
Lead and manage your direct reports (Sanitation Specialists, Sanitation Lead, and Facility Custodian) with guidance from the Compounding and Sanitation Manager
Request orders to maintain adequate inventories of appropriate cleaning and sanitizing supplies
Escalate any equipment problems or concerns to CSM or EMF; utilize Fiix ticket system for repair requests as needed
Ensure cleaning logs and cleaning schedules are maintained
Perform Sanitation Specialist or Sanitation Lead tasks as required.
General Manufacturing and Continuous Process Improvement
Lead by example with good manufacturing processes and all standard operating procedures
Support management of the facility’s Zero Waste Program
Support Manufacturing Team in creating SOPs related to equipment cleaning and sanitation
Collaborate with the CSM to ensure the completion of Internal Manufacturing Audit for sanitation related processes
Actively participate in 5S activities and Continuous Process Improvement initiatives in Manufacturing
Support continuous improvement in plant cleanliness of every department.
Safety, Security, and Other
Must report any unsafe or hazardous condition to appropriate manager.
Create and maintain a culture of safety among the teams; lead by example and ensure compliance in:
All safety procedures including chemical handling
Safety Data Sheet instructions
Use of personal safety equipment
Other safety protocols as instructed
Lead the Sanitation team in response to spill cleanups or Blood Borne Pathogen cleanups.
Perform other tasks and projects as directed by your manager
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Bilingual in Spanish required
Basic to Intermediate t knowledge of MS Excel and Word strongly preferred
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with people at all levels
Strong interpersonal skills and listening skills
Ability to effectively communicate with others, interface with people across multiple departments and levels
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment and to troubleshoot problems
Flexibility to work different shifts when required, to be on call after hours, and to work weekends/overtime if needed
Ability to achieve and maintain forklift/pallet jack certification
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma required
Previous experience with ERP systems preferred
2+ years experience in a leadership role required
Previous Experience in manufacturing, food production, or warehouse environments is required

GENERAL WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on a production floor or warehouse environment. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts sometimes in high, or precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, ambient air, temperature extremes, fumes or airborne particles, traffic, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but occasionally high.
