The foreman has the top supervisory role for our metalworking shop. With your industry experience and knowledge, you will direct, supervise and troubleshoot routine issues that occur day to day. In addition to developing work schedules, you will also be responsible for:

RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinating daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to time sensitivity, supply, delivery, and personnel issues

Hiring, training, managing, and mentoring employees

Emphasizing safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment while providing training on safety gear, and procedures

Managing project timelines and quality standards

Blueprint reading

Resolving conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably

Maintain a positive work environment

Effective staff management

Regularly reporting project status to supervisors, engineers, and others

Manage efficiency of staff to budgeted time standards

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED, an associate degree in an industry-relevant field

Minimum 10 years production experience in the sheet metal industry - REQUIRED

Communication and administration skills to maintain a positive working relationship

Attention to detail

Has effectively motivated production staff

Decision-making skills for selecting personnel and subcontractors for specific tasks and jobs to meet deadlines.

Speaking skills for providing clear orders, explaining information and discussing technical details with staff.
