Janitorial/Maintenance Assistant – Senior Building (Chicago)

Hours: Mon–Fri, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM

We manage senior independent-living communities and are looking for a reliable Janitorial/Maintenance Assistant to help keep the building clean, safe, and running smoothly. Great job for someone who takes pride in their work and likes helping seniors.

Main Duties

Clean and sanitize common areas (lobbies, hallways, laundry rooms, restrooms)

Empty trash and recycling daily

Light repairs (unclog sinks, change bulbs, patch walls)

Assist with preparing apartments for new residents

Report maintenance/safety issues to the Property Manager

Seasonal work:

Snow removal (shoveling, salting, keeping entrances safe)

Lawn care (sweeping, debris removal, watering plants, light landscaping)

Be professional, respectful, and kind to residents

Requirements

Janitorial or maintenance experience preferred

Able to lift 50 lbs and handle physical work

Reliable, hardworking, detail-oriented

Comfortable working around seniors

Background checks reviewed fairly
