We care for your career while caring for the community.Pension PlanRetirement PlanComprehensive Benefits PackageTuition ReimbursementBenefits Effective Date of HireSame Day Pay through Daily PaySUMMARYThe School Counselor for Rochester General College of Health Careers (RGCOHC) provides counseling, assessment, mental health consultation, family and community outreach for students.ATTRIBUTESMaster's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Education, or relevant field.One year experience preferred, preferably in an educational setting.Experience in providing counseling, group interventions and supportive mental health services to students. Training in life crisis intervention strategies such as TCI, LSI or similar problem solving models preferred.RESPONSIBILITIESLiaison. Partners closely with the faculty, college leadership & staff of RGCOHC to ensure the success of the students through, but not limited to: counseling, coaching, community outreach, and resource navigation. Act as a liaison between students and faculty/staff. Collaborate with the faculty & staff in the development, revision and implementation of programs/processes to maintain and enhance a positive behavior support system. Evaluate situations, solve problems, resolve conflicts, provide intervention as well as make referral to appropriate professionals (mental health, behavior counseling and primary doctor) and/or community agencies.Mentorship. Regularly interacts with RGCOHC students in their academic environment to assist with time-management, personal needs and the development of life skills training. Provide behavioral and social support to students who are placed on an student improvement plans. Provide behavioral and social support to students who are placed on an student improvement plans. Provides individual or group training in a wide variety of topics that provide RGCOHC students with the social, life, academic and employment skills that enable success. Provide support to students with parenting skills, family planning, daycare/eldercare arrangements, and special programs such as, but not limited to, Parent Support Group.Administration. Manage an active case load based on enrollment and retention of students; maintain reports including but not limited to: IEP progress notes, social histories, counseling services, behavior repots and all other services that were provided. Ensure necessary tracking including but not limited to: referrals, student compliance, alumni surveys, student engagement in supplemental learning opportunities, and student accomplishments. Provide individual or group counseling for students who are experiencing social, emotional behavioral and physical problems in school, home, or community. Support students with crisis counseling as needed.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.PAY RANGE: $55,500.00 - $75,000.00The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future.
