Additionally, the Registrar serves as the custodian of the students' academic records and ensures compliance with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and other reporting compliance requirements. The Registrar also serves as an advisor to students, faculty, deans, and other administrators regarding operations and policies of the Registrar's office.ATTRIBUTESBachelor's degree preferred with experience in a registrar/student services functional capacity within a higher education institution; or documented similar experience with like responsibilities.RESPONSIBILITIESOperational Duties. Direct, plan, establish and implement sound operational and organizational plans to support the mission and goals of the College with emphasis on Registrar duties. Formulate policy recommendations, procedures and processes to improve overall operations. Develop short and long-range plans related to registrar functions. Perform needs assessment and evaluate effectiveness of current systems, programs and activities. Serve on College-wide task forces, committees and meetings. Attend conferences, workshops and informational development seminars.Registrar. Serve as the custodian of the records for students and ensure compliance with FERPA and other regulatory bodies (i.e. Department of Education). Process graduation audits and evaluations of student records to ensure that general education and specific program requirements are completed before conferring degrees, certificates, and diplomas; review and make decisions about student records when conflicts arise. Monitor all enrollment activities in partnership with faculty and staff. Monitor the accuracy and consistency of evaluation of transcripts from accredited colleges and universities in the United States; award elective or equivalent credit for eligible courses, as appropriate. Responsible for monitoring the posting and updates of course information. Work with the Office of the Vice-President of Academic Affairs to plan and coordinate the Commencement ceremony. Issue diplomas and certificates after a final graduation audit.FERPA. Observes and obeys appropriate privacy guidelines and maintains confidentiality of all records in accordance with college policy, and federal guidelines (FERPA). Provide a strong working knowledge of state and federal compliance mandates and proven leadership in FERPA compliance, training of staff and faculty, and of best practices related to students' records. Manage records and academic policy enforcement and complex operations and projects. Community Relations Duties. Participates on community boards or committees as requested by the college leadership.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.PAY RANGE: $55,500.00 - $72,750.00The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future.
